Best 3D Laser Scanners

3d scannerThe best 3D scanners in the industry are available at 3D Digital Corporation. While the field of companies jumping into the 3D scanner industry has recently grown, 3D Digital Corporation has been in the business for nearly 15 years.  Our employees have over half a century of combined work experience.  Our company is known to be an innovative industry leader and we offer the best 3D scanners that are easy to use, versatile, customizable and affordable.

At 3D Digital Corporation, our 3D scanners can be customized to the clients’ needs.  While the greatest need for the best 3D scanners has traditionally been in manufacturing fields, we have also adapted our machines to benefit health care, artistry, and even museum needs.  One of our assets is that a potential client can explain their need and our experienced staff is able to match one of our products to fill that need. For example, we recently assessed the needs of the U.S. Army and determined we could combine two scanners into one for a custom scanner that fulfilled their requirements and budget.

Even the best 3D scanners are useless if the client does not know how to use them.  Our staff provides easy-to-read manuals and video tutorials as well as phone technical support.  Even if you have never used a 3D scanner, we are positive you will be able to begin using your new 3D scanner in minutes.

Return on Investment From a 3d Laser Scanner

If you are looking to get one of the best 3D scanners you are probably concerned about its price.  At 3D Digital Corporation we strive to offer affordable hardware and software to fit each client’s needs.  For example, our eScan system costs less than $8,000.  Satisfied clients have said that their first job paid for the price of the scanner.

3D Digital Corporation is committed to providing the best 3D scanners on the market.  We have scanners that save money and time, are easy to use, and are versatile.  We believe in providing the most current and state-of-the-art laser technology that can be adapted to fit different desires.  Today, it is apparent that the best 3D scanners are found at 3D Digital Corporation.

3D Laser Scanning Technology

3d laser scanning technologyTo familiarize someone with 3D laser scanning, it helps to show them a document page laid flat on the glass of a photocopier. Through two-dimensional scanning, the data on the page is collected and can be altered for output. Basically, 3D laser scanning just adds one more dimension.

Or, you could compare a 3D laser scanning to the taking of photographs with a camera. Indeed, the lens of the scanner unit looks much like a conventional camera lens—and has a similar field of view.

Explanation of 3D Laser Scanning

What makes 3D laser scanning technology unique in relation to flatbed scanning or photography is the distance factor. Any object with surface contours will require the laser light ray to travel farther or less far to reach a given point, depending on the point’s location along the height and width of the object. This is how the software picks up surface shape. Of course, in 3D laser scanning the operator is only dealing with a portion of the three-dimensional object at any given time. In other words, the scanner cannot see around corners. Therefore it is necessary to either rotate the object or reposition the scanner multiple times, each time oscillating the light beam across the object.

The real achievement in the development of 3D laser scanning took place when engineers came up with software capable of merging and aligning a collection of scan data. This data was gathered by rotating the object and capturing its dimensions and surface features in a total 360-degree composite. One popular use for this technology is called reverse-engineering. In this process, a valuable object that already exists but was constructed without the use of computer-aided design (CAD) will have its exterior volume and dimensions captured digitally as though it were originally designed using computer software. Once the software file is cleaned up and saved, the data gathered via 3D laser scanning can be used to replicate the object—or first modify its design and then produce copies.

3D Digital Scanners

3d Digital ScannersIndustries worldwide have discovered the benefits of 3D digital scanners. Most often these 3D digital scanner are used in manufacturing processes but other industries are finding them useful for other purposes. For example, in the practice of medicine doctors can use the scanners to create images of tumors, during surgery, or for later analysis. In another example, archivists have begun using digital scanners to create images of irreplaceable artifacts and artwork. Because 3D digital scanners have become so popular many companies have started producing them, but the quality of scanner that each company produces varies.
